The Makers

Rick has had a passion for farming and business his entire life. After a successful 35 year career in seed sales, he turned his attention to diversifying the family farm by turning his crops into spirits. He is extremely community minded serving on the Rochelle Hospital Board for nearly 20 years and currently township board for nearly 40 years and various positions at church.

Doris has farmed alongside her husband since they married in 1982 while also managing her own court reporting business. She served as School Board President for many years before turning her attention to political causes and church council.  Outside of work and volunteer responsibilities she enjoys time with her five grandchildren.

Aubrey is Rick and Doris’ daughter. She graduated from the University of Illinois with an Agricultural Economics degree. Aubrey is the CFO of the family businesses and township clerk.  She raises three children with her husband Evan, a member of the IL National Guard.

Kaleb is Rick and Doris' son. He graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Agriculture Industry Management. He is the production manager at the farm and is very active at church and political events.  He lives in Rochelle with his wife, Jubilee.

Adam is Rick and Doris’ nephew and is the distiller at Kennay Farms. He served in the United States Military and holds a Biology and Chemistry degree from Northern Illinois University.  Adam serves as a township trustee and lives in Ashton with his wife and two sons.
